Got Cedar Fever?
Bee pollen is collected from the bees in the area who have worked diligently collecting the pollen from the surrounding trees, weeds, and flowers. The pollen that is collected is then placed in jars or even cute little bears for sale to our valued customers. What are the benefits to taking bee pollen you may be wondering...
Bee pollen is a super food with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and even proteins. It can easily be taken for these benefits of nutrition alone! There are many who take bee pollen from their local bee keepers to help with seasonal allergies as they tend to find that ingesting the pollen that is found in the area helps their body build an immunity to the allergens.
As with an medication it is always advised to consult a physician before adding bee pollen to your diet especially if you are allergic to bee stings. There has been cases where allergic reactions have occurred due to the bee pollen containing the saliva of the bee or just a severe allergic reaction to the pollen itself. It is always best to play it safe with your health.
The next question we often hear is how does one take the pollen? Or what does it taste like? I will start by answering what the pollen tastes like. It is rather tart and earthy; similar to a tomato in my opinion. If you are not a fan of tomatoes or all things tart and earthy you can easily swallow the pollen with a gulp of water. You can also mix it into things like smoothies or perhaps a bowl of oatmeal!
Dosages for pollen:
Adults should start with one pellet per day and increase by one pellet each day until you are taking one full teaspoon each day.
If you wish to give bee pollen to a child please consult a doctor before doing so.
The benefits in regards to allergies are not seen immediately and you will have to wait until you are at almost the full teaspoon to get the full benefit so be patient! The best part is getting added nutrition to your diet during the waiting process and changing to a natural allergy solution!
